What you need to apply for International Master's Programme in Distributed Systems Engineering (DSE) at Technical University Dresden (TU Dresden)
Certificate of English Language Proficiency of at least CEFR C1 (for non-native speakers only). Since the language of instruction in the master's program is English, students whose first language is not English must prove proficiency in English language. We recognize many different tests, for instance, TOEFL iBT (institutional code1) or IELTS will be accepted.

The minimum prerequisites for the international master's program in Distributed Systems Engineering are as follows:
A three-years bachelor's degree in computer science or a comparable first vocational qualifying university degree recognized in Germany. You must have finished 80% of your bachelor's program at the time you apply.
Certificate of English Language Proficiency of at least CEFR C1. Since the language of instruction in the master's program is English, students whose first language is not English must prove proficiency in English language. We recognize many different tests, for instance, TOEFL iBT (institutional code1) or IELTS will be accepted.
Transcripts of records indicating "very good" (based on scored marks and/or grades) achievements in the following computer science related areas: Operating Systems, Networks and Distributed Systems, Database Systems, Software Engineering, and at least "good" (based on scored marks and/or grades) achievements in subjects like Algorithms and Data Structures, Foundations of Programming, Computer Architecture as well as Mathematics and Theoretical Computer Science. Your transcript must show a strong emphasis on these areas, i.e., you must have taken the majority of the corresponding courses during your bachelor's.
Additionally, you are expected to have some programming skills. Therefore, we count labs or assessments during your studies, internships, work experience as well as (open-source) projects and contributions to such or software which you have verifiably developed or contributed to.
Applicants need to provide some information as part of the aptitude assessment process. We do not have any tests or exams that you have to pass. You just need to answer some general questions about your expertise and previous studies. Please use our online portal to create the respective form sheet and include all of the above-mentioned certificates as well as a few additional documents in your application.

If your application is accepted, the course examination board will send you a confirmation letter, stating that you are accepted for the master's program. Simultaneously, we will send your papers to the International Office that will make sure that all requirements for entrance to our university are met. If this is the case, you will receive a letter from the TUD International Office with a certificate called "Zulassungsbescheid". This letter should be used to apply for your student visa at the German Embassy of your home country. (You are not allowed to study with a tourist visa!)
