How to apply
What you need to apply for Economics and Institutions (MSc) at Philipps-University Marburg
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum mark of 7.0 IELTS
Certification of a degree from a discipline-relevant bachelor's program or certification of a comparable domestic or foreign qualifying university degree.
The first, fundamental university degree with final grade
If this is not available, a Transcript of Records with a calculated average grade on the basis of at least 80% of the credit points required for the Bachelor's degree can alternatively be submitted.
c) The Transcript of Records for determining your previous course contents and knowledge in the economic sciences as well as the associated ancillary sciences (e.g. mathematics, statistics) of at least 90 credits (according to ECTS).

If students do not have completed their course of studies at the time of application, they have to submit a transcript of records including a preliminary grade,

Personal statement, c. 2 pages DIN A4 (German standard format) with 1,800
keystrokes each. In this document the applicant should argue why he/she is suitable
for the economics and institutions courses including the criteria above.

Certification of a degree from a discipline-relevant bachelor's program or certification of a comparable domestic or foreign qualifying university degree.
Fundamental economic skills and at least 90 credit points in economic subjects, as well as the associated ancillary sciences, which impart methodological competence (e.g. Mathematics for Economists, Statistics) must have been earned in the completed bachelor's program in a field of Economics or Sociology, or an at least equivalent domestic or foreign university degree.

What to prepare for your application to Economics and Institutions (MSc)
a) Application for admission (online application of the online application portal)
b) The first, fundamental university degree with final grade
c) The Transcript of Records for determining your previous course contents and knowledge in the economic sciences as well as the associated ancillary sciences (e.g. mathematics, statistics) of at least 90 credits (according to ECTS).
d) Certification of skills in English at Level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages of the Council of Europe
e) Letter in English, approximately 2 DIN A4 pages in length, in which the applicant describes his/her personal disciplinary suitability, referring to the criteria indicated above, and providing reasons for why he/she has chosen the Master's program in Economics and Institutions with a focus on institutional economics in Marburg.
f) Tabular resume/CV (1 DIN A4 page)
g) Additional certifications of personal disciplinary suitability, which relate to the aforementioned criteria, as applicable.

What happens after I have applied via uni-assist?
1. Check your application with the help of the "Checklist" from uni-assist
2. The evaluation of your documents may take up to six weeks. The current processing times by uni-assist are published here: http://www.uni-assist.de/news.html.
3. If you fulfill all formal requirements, uni-assist will forward your application to us. uni-assist informs you about this step via e-mail.
4. If you do not meet the formal requirements, you will also get an e-mail from uni-assist. uni-assist cannot send your documents back. You may apply again for the next semester.
5. Once uni-assist has forwarded your application to the university, the department in charge will check whether your application also fulfills the admission requirements of content for the specific study programs.
6. If you applied for a non-restricted study program and you fulfill all admission requirements, you will receive a letter of admission with further information. If you applied for a restricted study program, a selection procedure takes place. Letters of admission for those study programs are expected to be send out in mid- or end of August for a winter semester and mid- or end of February for a summer semester.
7. (After uni-assist has forwarded your application, you will receive a letter of admission per post service and E-Mail with further information or a letter of rejection from the University of Marburg.)
8. With a letter of admission you can request a visa. Some embassies also accept the e-mail from uni-assist, confirming your application.
9. If you receive a letter of admission from the University of Marburg, but do not enroll, you have to reapply via uni-assist for the next semester.
