A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Computational Linguistics or related fields) with 210 ECTS credit points is required. The program is held in English. A level of B2 (official European reference frame) is required.

successful participation in an aptitude test; further details are regulated in the statutes on the aptitude test for the Master's program in Artificial Intelligence
Applicants who have completed a university degree or an equivalent qualification for which fewer than 210 but at least 180 ECTS points were awarded will be admitted if the other requirements under paragraph 1 are met and the missing competencies are demonstrated with the application for admission.
The missing competencies according to sentence 1 are proof of the compensation of the competency gap in the amount of up to a further 30 ECTS credits to the qualification requirement to be demonstrated in paragraph 1 sentence 1 lit. a) at least at Bachelor level. 3 The missing competencies must be proven by the end of the application period at the latest by providing evidence of practical work experience outside of the course of study, which corresponds in content and scope to the basic internship and/or practical semester of a Bachelor's degree program in the field of artificial intelligence, data science, computer science, mathematics, engineering, computational linguistics and (3) or an equivalent Bachelor's degree, e.g. at the Technical University of Ingolstadt, provided that the submitted degree shows deficits in the area of the practical skills to be demonstrated compared to the qualification requirement according to paragraph 1

copy of current transcript of records in case studies are not completed yet (important: the transcript has to be up-to-date, otherwise audit can be rejected)

APS certificate (in case the Bachelor Degree was absolved in China, India or Vietnam)
However the regulations of the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt provide the possibility of compensating the missing competences through working experience after graduating. The duration of the working experience must be at least 20 weeks full-time (and as already mentioned after graduating from the Bachelor).
Additonal information for applicants from India: you also need an APS certificate - getting it currently takes approximately three months!

Additional fee information
Starting in the summer semester of 2026, the Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences (THI) will charge tuition fees of €1,200 per semester for a Master's program for students from non-EU countries*, in accordance with Article 13, Paragraph 3, Sentence 1, Number 6 of the Bavarian Higher Education Innovation Act (BayHIG) in conjunction with Section 10 of the Fees and Charges Regulations. For part-time programs, the fees are reduced proportionally to the part-time component. Students will also continue to pay the student services fee of €72 per semester. From the winter semester 2024/25, Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) will charge service fees of 500 euros per semester for students from third countries*
