What you need to apply for Global Change Ecology at University of Bayreuth
Applicants must speak English fluently. The individual language skills will be evaluated in the aptitude assessment procedure (through the letter of motivation and individual interview).
1. an excellent Bachelor's degree in biology, hydrology, meteorology, environmental physics, environmental informatics, geoecology, landscape ecology, geography, science of forestry or agricultural science, Philosophy & Economics, International Economics and Development or an equivalent degree, and
2. the successful passing of an aptitude assessment test (Eignungsfeststellungsprüfung) for the international elite graduate program Global Change Ecology at the University of Bayreuth.
Applications may already be submitted before completion of the bachelor's degree; however, a total of at least 135 credit points must be earned by the time of application
A university degree (or completed course of studies) in the Bachelor’s programmes Biology, Geography or Geo-Ecology &Environmental Studies, International Economics & Development, Philosophy & Economics, Physics, a degree for teaching at public schools (Bachelor, first state examinations, Magister) or a law degree (Bachelor, Diplom, first law examination) at the University of Bayreuth or an equal degree.

One prerequisite for admission to the programme is the passing of an aptitude assessment process (see [Examination Regulations](https://www.amtliche-bekanntmachungen.uni-bayreuth.de/de/...), Annex 2), which is conducted in English; it includes an evaluation of the applicant's qualifications and, if necessary, a personal interview (stage II of the aptitude assessment process)

To qualify for the international elite graduate program Global Change Ecology (M.Sc.) requires
1\. an excellent Bachelor's degree in biology, hydrology, meteorology, environmental physics, environmental informatics, geoecology, landscape ecology, geography, science of forestry or agricultural science, Philosophy & Economics, International Economics and Development or an equivalent degree, and
2\. the successful passing of an aptitude assessment test (Eignungsfeststellungsprüfung) for the international elite graduate program Global Change Ecology at the University of Bayreuth.

What to prepare for your application to Global Change Ecology
1. Letter of motivation (max. 2 pages) stating the skills and expertise that qualify you for the study program,
2. Bachelor certificate including academic transcript**
3. Confirmations of stays abroad, internships and language courses (if applicable),
4. Names and mailing addresses of two scientific referees,
5. Certificate of general university entrance qualification* as additional information,
6. Curriculum vitae (containing a photo) as additional information.
** If you also have completed a Master, Postgraduate or other degree or are currently enrolled in a program, please also send us your transcript of records and certificate.
International applicants must also upload the following documents:

submit additional country-specific documents (e.g. APS certificate).
Additional documents can include confirmations of stays abroad, e.g. documents attesting semesters abroad, or language certificates as well as internships, field trips or participation in research projects. If you have confirmations of specific qualifications, such as stipends, awards, extra-curricular courses and activities, etc. please add them as well to "Confirmations of stays abroad, internships and language courses" as one combined pdf. These are not mandatory for admission, but they will help us to understand your individual background and motivation for studying Global Change Ecology. If you do not have such certificates, we recommend you to attach special importance to your letter of motivation.
However, if you do have proof of your English skills, such as course certificates, confirmation of earlier studies in English or a TOEFL or IELTS test, we recommend to upload these documents in the section of documents that can be submitted.
