How to apply
What you need to apply for IT Management and Consulting at University of Hamburg
What to prepare for your application to IT Management and Consulting
-Your bachelor's degree certificate , if available, including a complete list of module examinations you have completed ( Transcript of Records ) and a program description ( Diploma Supplement ). If you did not earn your bachelor's degree at a German university (but, for example, at a German university of applied sciences, a university of applied sciences, a university of cooperative education, or a university institution abroad), please also include a description of the respective course content and the literature used.
-If you have not yet completed your bachelor's degree by the application deadline, please submit a transcript of records or other documentation of the modules you have completed so far and the ECTS credits you have earned , as well as—if you have registered your bachelor's thesis—a confirmation of registration for your bachelor's thesis . If the registration of your bachelor's thesis is evident from the transcript of records, you do not need any additional documents. For applicants from the University of Hamburg, a printout of your STiNE performance record and the module registration for your bachelor's thesis is sufficient.
-If you have earned or will earn your bachelor's degree abroad, you may voluntarily submit proof of the conversion of your final grade or current grade point average into the German grading system. You can request this conversion at uni-assist.de . Conversions from the Central Office for Foreign Education, the state certificate recognition offices, and APS certificates from the Academic Testing Centers in China, Vietnam, and Mongolia are also accepted.
-A description of your career (preferably in tabular format), including any certificates and diplomas you may have earned since completing your studies . This includes, in particular, evidence of practical and international experience, as well as courses and training completed outside of your studies. Please note that practical and international experience can only be considered in the selection process with appropriate documentation.
-Confirmation that you are aware that the M.Sc. IT Management and Consulting program includes modules whose lectures and examinations are conducted in English, and that you have sufficient knowledge of the English language to follow academic lectures, read specialist literature, and take the associated oral and written examinations in English. Please use this form for this purpose .
-A self-written letter of motivation in English, in which you explain your chosen study program and university, as well as your academic goals. If you have not yet completed your bachelor's degree and are applying with fewer than 150 credits or without starting your bachelor's thesis, you should also describe how you plan to complete your bachelor's degree before starting your master's program. If you did not obtain your Abitur (or other qualification with which you began your undergraduate degree) from a German-speaking school, you can also submit your letter of motivation in German.
