How to apply
What you need to apply for Business Analytics Program at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management
required
yes
First academic degree: Bachelor's degree in economics, a STEM subject, or other disciplines
Applicants need a bachelor's degree with at least 180 ECTS credits from a state or state-recognized university. The degree can have been obtained either in an economics department or in a STEM subject. We also accept degrees from other disciplines if there is a strong interest in analytical or quantitative methods. This can be proven, for example, by appropriate courses or practical experience. If you obtained your university degree outside Germany, the university must be listed in the [Anabin](https://anabin.kmk.org/cms/public/startseite) database with the status "H+" in order for the degree to be recognized as equivalent in Germany.
Practical experience: Minimum 3 months, maximum 6 years
The program is aimed at prospective students who have worked for a maximum of six years after completing their bachelor's degree. However, you should have gained at least 12 weeks (480 hours) of practical experience in a business-related field by the start of your studies, which must be proven by an official certificate from the employer. The certificate should contain the following information: your full name, the title of the position, the start and end of the employment period, a short job description as well as a company stamp and the signature of an authorized person.
Outstanding quantitative skills
The Master in Business Analytics requires outstanding quantitative skills. These can be detected in the following ways:
You can also take all of these tests from the comfort of your own home – we accept the online versions. The following pages could help with the preparation: [GMAT prep](https://www.mba.com/exams/gmat-exam/prep-for-the-exam), [GMAT quiz](https://www.mba.com/gmat-mini-quiz), [GRE prep](https://www.ets.org/gre/test-takers/general-test/prepare.html?WT.ac=grehome_greprepare_b_150213), [GRE quiz](https://www.ets.org/gre/gre-mini-quiz.html), [GTEBS info](https://itb-academic-tests.org/en/universities/gtebs/) (formerly TM-WISO).
If very good grades cannot be demonstrated in quantitative courses from the Bachelor's program, a GMAT, GRE or GTEBS result must be submitted. Applicants can also apply without official GMAT or GRE scores. If you successfully complete the WHU selection process without a test result, you will receive a_current offer of a study place._ This becomes _final_ as soon as you submit the required result.
If you are interested in our [double degree programs](https://www.whu.edu/de/programme/master-of-science-programme/double-degree/), please note that some of our partner universities only accept the GMAT.
English language proficiency: TOEFL or IELTS
We accept the following test results (valid for two years; Online tests are possible):
If you have completed your bachelor's degree and/or your school education entirely in English, we do not require any separate proof of English language skills. In this case, a certificate from the school or university is sufficient. Other tests, such as the Duolingo English Test or TOEIC, are not accepted.
It is possible to apply now without an official test result. Admission is then conditional until the result is submitted later.
International Experience: Recommended
Applicants from Germany, Austria and Switzerland who complete the 90-credit track must provide proof of three months of international experience by the start of their studies. For example, internships, semesters abroad, language courses, summer schools or comparable international programs are accepted. For all other applicants, international experience is not a mandatory admission requirement. However, since internationality is one of WHU's core values, it can significantly strengthen your application.
