The goal of our current research project »QUASIM – Quantum Computing Enhanced Service Ecosystem for Simulation in Manufacturing« is the development and testing of quantum computing (QC) solutions in manufacturing using the example of machining processes. Together with our project partners, we investigate the extent to which QC support can accelerate the creation of a digital twin in machining and thus improve the quality of results. For the research work, the project partners can use real QC hardware: both the QC infrastructure at the Jülich Research Center that has just been put into operation and the »IBM Q System One« in the »Quantum Computing Competence Center Baden-Württemberg«.
