- Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Environmental Engineering
What you'll do
- You analyze agricultural and food industry residual and by-product streams and evaluate their potential for sustainable material use. In doing so, you independently prepare samples, examine relevant ingredients, and determine extraction yields using suitable analytical methods.
- You develop and conduct extraction and fractionation experiments and examine the influence of various process parameters on yield, composition, and quality of the obtained fractions.
- Based on the results, you derive initial approaches for the transferability and scaling of the developed processes.
- You document, analyze, and present your results in the project team as well as to internal and external partners.
What you need
- You are studying chemistry, chemical engineering, bioprocess engineering, biotechnology, food technology, environmental engineering, bioeconomics, or a comparable field. Ideally, you have already gained initial practical experience in laboratory work and/or chemical-physical analytics.
- You work independently, structured, and reliably and enjoy working on scientific questions independently. You are characterized by analytical thinking, creativity, and a solution-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of extraction processes, statistical design of experiments, or data analysis is an advantage but not a prerequisite. You approach tasks carefully, find pragmatic solutions for complex issues, and convince with flexibility and teamwork.
- Additionally, you have very good German and English skills, both written and spoken, and communicate confidently in a scientific environment. Your high motivation, curiosity, and willingness to familiarize yourself with new topics round off your profile.
