Agile Robots SE · Munich

InternshipGerman needed: none
Still open on 1 Nov

What you will do

  • Software Development: Implement and extend robot software modules in C++ or Python, for example for motion planning, joint control, or sensor data processing.
  • Hardware Testing: Run and debug your software on real robots and sensors in the lab, and reproduce issues found during testing.
  • Sensor Integration: Integrate and calibrate cameras and other sensors, and keep coordinate frames and timing consistent across the system.
  • Simulation: Build and use simulation setups to test software before it runs on hardware.
  • Test Automation: Write automated tests and tooling that check the software keeps working as it changes.

What you need

Essential Skills

  • Degree Programme: Enrolled in a Master’s programme in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Programming: Working proficiency in C++ or Python, including code written for a project beyond course exercises.
  • Hands-On Robotics: Experience running and debugging your own code on a physical robot, sensor setup, or embedded device, for example in a lab, a thesis project, or a student robotics team.
  • Robotics Fundamentals: Working understanding of coordinate transforms, kinematics, and basic control.
  • Linux Development: Working familiarity with the Linux command line, build systems such as CMake, and Git.

Beneficial Skills

  • ROS 2: Experience building or debugging ROS 2 nodes and the communication between them.
  • 3D Perception: Experience processing depth-camera or point-cloud data on a running robot, including camera calibration.
  • Motion Planning: Experience with motion planning or control for robot arms or mobile robots.
  • Real-Time Systems: Familiarity with timing constraints in control loops or real-time operating systems.
