Master's Student (a) Material Characterization with Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) for mmWave Applications

Literature research on material characterization methods in the millimeter-wave range, familiarization with theoretical fundamentals Analysis of resonant measurement methods for determination of relative permittivity and loss factor / loss tangent Setup, commissioning, and calibration of a measurement environment based on a vector network analyzer Development and implementation of suitable evaluation algorithms for extraction of material parameters Comparison and evaluation of measurement results regarding accuracy, repeatability, and measurement uncertainty

Degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, physics, or a comparable technical or scientific course of study Good knowledge of mathematics and physics Pronounced independent, analytical, and structured way of working Knowledge of high-frequency technology and electromagnetic field theory is an advantage Ideally experience in the analysis and evaluation of measurement data Ideally knowledge of MATLAB, Python, or comparable development environments
