What you will do

  • Opening of commercial Li-ion batteries under protective gas atmosphere
  • Conducting aging experiments and post-mortem analyses, as well as their evaluation to derive specific aging mechanisms
  • Analyzing individual cell components with selected analytical methods (e.g., electron microscopy, TGA, construction of experimental cells, ...)
  • Learning about future energy carriers and battery technologies
  • Independent, interdisciplinary communication and coordination to fulfill work packages in projects

What you need

  • Ongoing studies in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Environmental Engineering, or comparable fields of study
  • Good academic performance and basic understanding of technical contexts
  • Initial laboratory experience and experience with Matlab as well as lithium-ion batteries are an advantage
  • Independent, structured, and goal-oriented work as well as teamwork skills
  • Enjoyment of discovering and learning new things
  • Very good knowledge of common MS Office applications
  • Good German and English language skills, both written and spoken
