Internship Traffic Planning & Modeling - Düsseldorf (m/f/d)

Depending on your interests and prior knowledge, you will gain insight into exciting project work in one of our departments. Depending on the department, you could be involved in activities such as the following as part of our projects:

Transport Planning and Traffic Engineering:

• Project tasks range from preliminary design sketches and developing measures to traffic signal concepts and capacity studies, as well as model-based and conceptual transport planning.
• We work on microscopic simulations and macroscopic models, taking all modes of transport into account: private transport, public transport, walking and cycling.
• Our projects range from urban junctions and connected motorway sections to comprehensive assessments of an entire city or region.

Public Transport Planning and Evaluation:

• We analyse, plan and optimise bus and rail networks. You can actively help shape mobility concepts, public transport concepts and local transport plans.
• We carry out economic evaluations of public transport using cost-benefit analyses and standardised appraisal methods.
• We use and develop routines to analyse public transport indicators and present the results in attractive maps, graphics, illustrations, charts and tables. For this, we use macroscopic transport models in PTV Visum.
