Indian Master's applicants for Summer 2027 face a new APS-linked dMAT rule. Answer a few short questions to see if it applies to you.
Step 1 of 6
The dMAT is only part of the India APS check.
Free, no sign up. One shows you exactly how to book your seat, the other is what the exam makers publish to help you prepare.
The dMAT is run by g.a.s.t. / TestDaF Institute. Always confirm dates, centres and fees on d-mat.de before you book.
Country, degree, and target German state determine whether you need an APS certificate, what kind, and how long it takes.
Search the anabin database to check your university's German recognition status (H+, H+/-, or H-) in seconds. Anabin is Germany's official recognition database, synced here daily, with an honest explanation of what your status means for university admission, the Opportunity Card, or a work visa.
Your CGPA, target field, and target university map to a likelihood band, anchored against real cohort data.
As of 1 July 2026, the dMAT applies to Indian APS applicants applying for a Master's from Summer Semester 2027 onward when their previous degree is in Engineering, Commerce or Accounting or Finance or Economics, or Business or Management.
No. APS India says the dMAT is not a stand-alone pass or fail test for the APS certificate. But if you are affected, your APS documentation is incomplete without the dMAT certificate.
The published India dMAT fee is EUR 150, paid to g.a.s.t. during registration. This is separate from the normal APS fee and separate from any MS in Germany service fee.
The first published India dMAT sitting is on 26 September 2026. Registration opened on 29 June 2026 and closes on 15 September 2026. Results are scheduled for 12 October 2026. Register early: by early July 2026 the New Delhi and Mumbai morning sittings were already fully booked.
Register on the official g.a.s.t. portal via d-mat.de: pick the 26 September 2026 sitting, choose an India test centre and a morning or afternoon session, create a g.a.s.t. account, enter your passport number exactly as printed, upload a passport-style photo, and pay the EUR 150 fee online by card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, UnionPay) or PayPal.
Yes. On 16 July 2026 g.a.s.t. published free official preparation material for the General Academic Module on d-mat.de. It is the only official sample of the question formats.
Not automatically. The official affected-fields list distinguishes standalone CS, BCA, IT, Data Science, AI, AI and ML, and Cyber Security from Engineering titles. Computer Science and Engineering is affected, but standalone Computer Science usually is not.
Mixed titles such as Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering and Management, Business Analytics, or sector-specific Management need case-by-case classification against the official affected-fields list. Do not guess from the everyday course name.
