Admission requirements
A Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant area of studies giving access to a Master degree programme.
Evidence of English proficiency. All applicants who have not obtained a previous diploma in a programme taught in English in Australia, English-speaking Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America must submit a certificate proving their proficiency in English. The English proficiency test scores accepted by KU Leuven are the TOEFL iBT certificate, IELTS Academic certificate, Cambridge C1 Advanced (CAE) or C2 Proficiency (CPE) certificate. E.g., TOEFL iBT 90 with a score of at least 20 in each section; or IELTS score 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0; or CAE or CPE: 176+ on Cambridge English scale with no less than 169 in each skill and use of English.

If you still need to graduate at the time of your application, you are requested to upload PDF scans of your intermediate official transcripts through the web application portal. The Admissions Office reserves the right to ask for official or certified hard copies of transcripts (or diplomas) if required for the evaluation of the application.
A PDF scan of the translation of your diploma(s) and official transcripts. If your documents are not in English, Dutch, French, or German, please arrange for these documents to be translated by a registered translator. These documents must also be certified by the educational institution that issued them or by a national authority.
English Proficiency Certificate (see language requirements). The PDF scans of the TOEFL or IELTS certificates have to be uploaded in the web application. You should also request ETS or the British Council to make your test result available to KU Leuven in their online verification tool.
PDF of the proof of payment of the application fee made either via bank transfer or via credit card.
A PDF scan of the identity page of your passport (for EEA citizens: a PDF scan of your national ID card will also suffice).
If you currently hold a Belgian Residence Permit, also upload PDF scans of both sides of the card in your application.
PDF of your motivation letter (recommended size: one A4 page).
PDF of your CV.
At least two recommendation letters are requested (at least one of the referees should come from the university of origin). The recommendation letters should not be uploaded via the web application but sent directly by the referee to the programme email address .
