What you need to apply for Master International Media Cultural Work (IMC) at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences (HS Darmstadt)

A diploma or bachelor degree within the fields of digital media, media culture, or media pedagogy. Applicants with a degree in e.g. media design, media informatics and technology, media management, journalism, or related fields (e.g. cultural management, social pedagogy, social work, design, art history, musicology) will be screened for eligibility, as will those applicants with a grade point average below 1.9 (or German standard equivalent).
The eligibility assessment includes the final grade point average of the bachelor’s degree or diploma, practical experience, and a letter of motivation.
If the bachelor’s degree has earned 180 ECTS (or equivalent), an industrial placement must be completed during the study.
The certificate of graduation from the previous course of study or alternatively a temporary certificate and, for degrees not awarded by Hochschule Darmstadt, also the diploma supplement or a comparable record of the program content.

The documents pertaining to items 1. to 5. must be submitted completely. If they have not been submitted by the application deadline, the application will not be considered for admission.

What to prepare for your application to Master International Media Cultural Work (IMC)
APPLICATION Please register in the uni-assist online portal! Create your application form and submit it to UNI ASSIST online. Once this is completed, please upload all requested documents on the uni-assist online platform. You will be asked to submit your certificates in their original language, accompanied by a certified (sworn) translation in German or English. You must upload the following documents:
Your School leaving certificate. Normally, a completed Bachelor’s degree is sufficient; however, there are many cases where a secondary school certificate will still play an important role in the evaluation of your entitlement to study in Germany. It is impossible to tell in advance if your secondary school certificate will be required, this can only be determined during the application process. If the secondary school certificate is missing from your application, your application will be rejected.
Your Bachelor’s degree in a related subject from a recognized university. 'Recognized' means that the university must be accredited according to the laws and regulations of the country in which it is based.
The transcript of records/diploma supplement for all study years (precondition is a full-time study program)

DEADLINE FOR FORMAL APPLICATION VIA UNI ASSIST: • Application closing date for a winter semester is 1st June (from mid-April on). • Application closing date for a summer semester is 1st December (from mid-October on). If all application documents are complete, we will forward the documents to the Faculty of Media. The assessment of aptitude is given if the applicant has reached 80 points or more.
