What you need to apply for Applied Research in Computer Science at Hof University of Applied Sciences
Applicants must be proficient in English. This can be proven with one of the following:

The application process for this research Master consists of a written and an oral part.
For the written part, you hand in a certification about an internship or practical work in the computer industry that lasted at least 18 weeks as well as a scientific work that you produced on your own (e.g. your Bachelor‘s thesis or a seminar paper).
You further have to choose a [topic from our research groups](https://www.hof-university.com/studying-at-hof-university/our-degree-programs/applied-research-in-computer-science-msc.html#c4548) and do a two-page literature review covering important scientific publications in the chosen topic.
If the written part is passed with a grade of at least 2.3, you are admitted to the oral part, which can be done in a video chat. To prepare for the oral part, you get a case study concerning a challenge in the chosen topic from the written part. You present your solutions for the case study and answer additional questions in a 30 minutes oral exam in English language. If you pass the oral exam with a grade of at least 2.3, you will be admitted to the Master‘s program.

In case you have not received the APS certificate by the application deadline, you will have the option to submit the certificate shortly after the deadline. You will see a new deadline in Primuss application portal after the application deadline passes.
However, this is only possible if you submitted your application within the application period.
Please also note that you cannot be admitted without the APS certificate.

After you successfully submitted your application, the admission team and examination board of the study program you applied for will carefully check your documents. You will be notified via Primuss portal in case there are any missing or rejected documents (e.g. due to low quality). Please make sure to check your emails regularly for updates.
As soon as the examination board has come to a decision on your application, you will be notified about admission or refusal by offical notification in Primuss portal. Notifications will usually be published no later than three weeks after the application deadline. In case of an admission, you will find your admission letter together with further instructions and information in Primuss portal. Please read the documents provided carefully as they explain all further steps.
Admission letters will only be available for download in .pdf format - no hard copies will be issued.
