For the Master's programmes that Hof lists for uni-assist, yes, unless you acquired your higher education entrance qualification or completed an entire Bachelor's degree in an EU or EEA member state or in Switzerland; those applicants do not apply via uni-assist. uni-assist checks your Bachelor's documents and issues a VPD, which you upload in PRIMUSS with your application. Hof recommends sending your documents to uni-assist at least 4 weeks before its application period starts. For all other Master's programmes you apply directly in PRIMUSS.

Yes, if you gained your higher education entrance qualification in China, India or Vietnam. You submit your certificates to the APS before applying at Hof, you cannot be admitted without the APS certificate, and you also need it for your visa.

If English is not your mother tongue, you need IELTS academic 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90; a medium of instruction certificate is not enough. English-taught programmes, except Software Engineering M.Eng., also need German at level A1. For programmes taught in German you need German at B2, unless your entrance qualification is German or you completed an entire study programme in German. Certificates must be submitted within the application period and should not be older than two years.

The admission team and examination board check your documents, and decisions are usually published in the PRIMUSS portal no later than three weeks after the application deadline. If admitted, you confirm in PRIMUSS and pay the fee described in your admission letter; enrolment is fully online.

Hof is a town of about 50,000 people in the far north of Bavaria, between Berlin, Munich and Prague.
