Degree programme Computational Modeling and Simulation (Master)

a) General documents

Except for the Master's Degree in International Relations, the following general documents must be submitted by everyone:

• your online application - filled in and signed
• Copy of the higher education entrance qualification (usually Abitur certificate); if available, certificate of the higher education entrance examination (copy of the original and the translation in either German or English)
• Copy of the original and officially certified translation (German or English) of the degree certificate of the required first university degree. If the first university degree is not yet available: Confirmation from the first university that at least 80% of the work required for the current university degree programme has been completed, as well as information on the current average grade for degree programmes with entry restrictions (form on the Admissions Office website)
• Certificate of enrolment of the last semester studied, stating the semester of study
• If you are not yet enrolled at TU Dresden, a certificate of your academic achievements from your previous university stating all courses of study including semesters
• Copy of passport (for international applicants)
• Original certificate of the Academic Evaluation Centre of the German Embassy (APS) for Chinese and Vietnamese applicants

b) Special degree-specific documents

• Request for assessment of suitability
• Proof of the required English language skills (e.g. TOEFL min. 550/213/80 points written/computer-based/internet-based) IELTS- Test 6.0 points or similar) except for

native speakers or those who completed studies in English

• Curriculum vitae with educational background
• Letter of motivation
• Copies of any certificates and additional qualifications, etc. that provide information about the particular suitability

a formal application for aptitude assessment for the Master's degree program (will be updated in February 2026)

Curriculum Vitae, in particular describing your academic career to date,

Motivation letter (informal), which provides evidence of your desire to study and your particular aptitude,

Graduated Record Examination (optional)

GRE Test is not required but will be positively considered if submitted,

Copy of the first professionally qualifying university degree certificate or confirmation from the responsible office at your university that at least 80 % of the credit points required for the university degree have been achieved (so-called 80 % certificate),

Proof of the required English language skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) based on the result of an internationally offered test. For detailed information see the Regulations for determining the suitability for CMS paragraph 4 XXX - will be updated in February / March 2026.

Students of some countries must submit the original APS certificate

No Tuition fee
