INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM (IELTS)
IELTS Academic with a minimum overall band score of 6.5.
IELTS indicator with a minimum overall band score of 6.5.
Applicants must also be able to prove that they are proficient in the English language at the time of application. In addition to accepted English language proficiency certificates across TUM study programs, applicants can prove their English language knowledge with a previous university degree that was taught and assessed in English entirely or at least 12 ECTS thereof. The 12 ECTS can include courses and/or your final thesis. Please use this form only in case the 12 ECTS rule applies.
A GMAT score of 600 points or higher will be accepted as proof of English language proficiency.

ESSAY
All applicants will need to write and submit an essay regarding a specific topic as part of their application. Please submit your essay as a pdf soft copy (upload in TUM Online) as well as a hard copy with your other paper documents. Please refer to the Essay Information Sheet for all important information concerning the essay.
HOW TO APPLY
To apply, please complete the application form online (during the application period). Please note that additionally, your paper documents will need to be mailed to TUM. Those documents need to be received by TUM no later than the last day of the application period
Important: All applicants for a Master’s degree who did not obtain their qualification for postgraduate studies (usually a Bachelor’s degree) in a country within the EU/EEA have to apply via Uni-Assist in addition to TUMonline (please refer here for details). Please note that the Uni-Assist application needs to be completed before the end of the application period, however, the document that Uni-Assist will provide you with, can be handed in at a later date, even after the end of the application period.
Please make sure you select Master in Management & Technology as your preferred program of study when filling in the online application form in TUMonline.
Once you have completed the online application form, you will receive a list of all additional paper documents that you will have to send, along with a printout of your completed application form. All required paper documents need to arrive at TUM no later than the end of the application period.

View university pagePlease note it is not necessary to prove any knowledge in the German language at the time of application. However, as a foreign student you are required to provide proof of basic German language proficiency (comparable to A1 level) by the end of the second semester.

All applicants with a Bachelor’s degree from China, Bangladesh, India, Egypt and Pakistan must submit a GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) with at least 640 points with their application. For all other applicants, the GMAT remains optional.
If you have completed your Bachelor's degree in China, India, Pakistan, Egypt or Bangladesh, you must provide proof of a GMAT (classic/focus) with a percentile ranking of at least 65%.
To qualify for the Master's programme in Management & Technology, applicants must fulfil the following requirements:
hold a Bachelor's degree (requiring at least six semesters of study) or equivalent in Management & Technology or a comparable programme at the intersection of management and technology
have successfully completed modules worth at least 25 ECTS in business (management)/“Betriebswirtschaftslehre”
have successfully completed modules worth at least 10 ECTS in economics/“Volkswirtschaftslehre”
have successfully completed modules worth at least 15 ECTS in engineering or natural science (mathematics, statistics & informatics classes included)
submit evidence of proficiency in English during the application period
In addition, a GMAT Score of at least 640 points is required if you have obtained your first degree (usually a Bachelor’s degree) in China, Egypt, India, Pakistan, or Bangladesh.
In case the Admission Test is relevant to the final assessment, you will be invited, at least one week in advance, to complete an online test on a specific date. The test consists of about 40 to 50 questions and it is divided into four categories:
1\. Fundamentals: Mathematics and Statistics (25%),
2\. Fundamentals of Business Administration and Accounting (25%),
3\. Fundamentals of Micro- and Macroeconomics (25%),
4\. Short written text on an issue in the context of economics and technology (25%)
