What you need to apply for Chemistry at Ulm University
Proof of an adequate command of English at level C 1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR). This proof may be
7.0 points or more in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
First Certificate in English (A), Certificate in Advanced English (A-C) or Certificate of Proficiency in English (A-C) in Cambridge exam
490 (listening), 455 (reading), 200 (speaking) and 200 (writing) points or more in the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC)
95 points or more in the Test of English as a Foreign Language internet-based (TOEFL iBT)
level III or level IV of the UNIcert
level CEFR C 1 or higher as shown on the higher education entrance qualification. Any level of language proficiency which is in parts on and in parts lower than level CEFR C1 is not recognised, or
any examination achievement passed at a higher education institution from the field of English language teaching with C1 explicitly shown as the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) level, if this is indicated in the transcript of records.

s you can see when checking the prerequisites for an admission to the
Master of Science Chemistry, the admission commission needs to check
the awarded credit points in chemistry related subjects and laboratory
courses etc. Therefore some kind of transcript is actually needed. If
the degree is not finished by the time of application, a preliminary
version will be accepted (but the check can only be carried out with
this version in this case). For the final enrollment, the degree
certificate and the final transcript can be provided later (before the
respective deadline). So please try to get some kind of transcript
when applying online via the University Ulm homepage. During this
process you will be able to upload documents like that.

A study programme in chemistry requires that the degree encompasses examinations from the following areas:
a) Examination achievements in the chemistry modules amounting to not less than
85 ECTS credits, and
b) Examiniation achievements in chemistry labs amounting to not less than 25
ECTS credits, and
c) The ability to conduct independent scientific work, demonstrated in particular by a thesis or comparable achievement to the extent of 10 ECTS
credits.

The proof of language proficiency required for the respective degree programme must be presented at the latest at the time of enrolment. Exception: For the Master Cognitive Systems, the required language certificate must be submitted by the time of application.
Enrolment without the required language certificate is not possible.
What to prepare for your application to Chemistry
When submitting your application via the campus portal of Ulm University you must upload the following documents:
Bachelor's degree diploma (certificate) with final grade as well as overview of subjects and grades /transcript of records with credit points/Diploma Supplement (if available).
If you have not yet completed your higher education degree: overview of subjects and grades/transcript of records issued by the higher education institution with the total credit points earned up to the application deadline and an indication of the provisional average grade.

Proof of English language proficiency at level B 2 CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
In the case of a higher education degree from China, India or Vietnam: APS certificate or APS confirmation.
Proof of vocational training and/or practical activities as well as previous studies that can provide specific information about the aptitude for the degree programm
Letter of motivation: a written report of not more than one page (in German or English) in which the personal and subject-related reasons for applying for the chosen study programme are stated and in which the choice of programme is explained
In the case of a foreign higher education degree: grading scale of the degree programme with indication of the lowest passing grade and maximum grade for the degree, to be shown on the bachelor's degree diploma/bachelor's degree certificate or on an official document of the higher education institution.
If proof and documents to be submitted are not written in German or English, additionally an official translation into German or English is required
For applicants who do not come from an EU country or the European Economic Area and have a German higher education entrance qualification (“Abitur”): proof of higher education entrance qualification

When submitting the application, all required supporting documents must be uploaded. Subsequent submission is not possible.
Application documents in paper form, as a fax or by e-mail will not be accepted.
A document issued in another name must be supplemented by documentary evidence of the change of name.
Further supporting documents may be required for your application.
