Admission requirements

The prerequisite for admission to the Master's degree programme "Technical Logistics" is proof of a first degree qualifying for a profession with a scope of at least 180 credits in the field of

• Engineering sciences
• Technical natural sciences (provided the technical-oriented modules have a scope of mid. 60 ECTS)
• Business administration or geography (with a focus on logistics or transport with 60 ECTS)

The overall grade of the degree must be at least 2.5 or better. In addition, it is required that the applicant has a degree in the following fields: Engineering Sciences, Computer Science, Business Administration, Transport Studies within the scope of their first professional qualification.

The examination board determines the admission requirements.

Admission

Unrestricted admission (study places are not limited).

Enrollment takes place during the enrollment period at the [student register's office](https://www.uni-due.de/studierendensekretariat/) on the Duisburg campus.

Prospective students from non-EU countries should apply in the [online portal](https://campus.uni-due.de/app_aaa/pages/cs/sys/portal/his...) of the International Office by 15.07. for the winter semester and by 15.03 for the summer semester.

Language Skills

The language of instruction at the University of Duisburg-Essen is German (except in the English-language programs). Therefore, you must have good German language skills if you want to study successfully. The majority of foreign applicants must pass the "Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang" (DSH 2 level; with some exceptions) before beginning their studies.​

Applicants who have not acquired their study qualification at a German-speaking institution within the Federal Republic of Germany or at an equivalent institution abroad must provide evidence of German and English language skills corresponding to the agreed level B2 of the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Study-accompanying internships

A compulsory internship in a company of at least 16 weeks (1 credit per week, maximum 16 credits) is planned for the study of Logistics Engineering and is credited in the interdisciplinary compulsory elective area or non-logistics module. Alternatively, the professional internship can be compensated by suitable courses with practical relevance from the compulsory elective catalogue. The non-logistics elective module can be partially replaced by at least four weeks of practical work experience in the field of logistics. An internship report of at least 5 pages (per month) is to be compiled on the practical work experience. The practical work experience should be completed before admission to the Master's thesis. The examination board decides on the proof of successful participation in the practical work experience.
