M.Sc. Climate Change Management

Climate Change Management is an English-taught Master of Science at Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences, on the Weihenstephan campus, for people with knowledge of climate protection and adaptation who want scientific skills to drive change. The programme is built around two ideas. Mitigation means cutting emissions and promoting CO2 absorption in ecosystems, for example by phasing out fossil fuels or improving the carbon sink potential of land use. Adaptation means responding to the effects of climate change, such as landscape planning in flood areas, heat-resistant species in afforestation and humus build-up in farming. The programme lasts four semesters with practical elements and starts on 1 October in the winter semester. Graduates work, for example, in planning offices on climate impact assessments and adaptation strategies.
