Question 3 · Mathematical Equations

Question 4 · Mathematical Equations

Substitute the linked equations, then check every value from 1 to 20. The only full solution is A = 20, B = 13, C = 4, D = 15.

Question 5 · Latin Squares

Question 7 · General Academic Module
lowAn algorithm is a sequence of instructions that solves a task step by step. Computers can only follow instructions that are completely precise: every step must say exactly what to do, and after every step it must be clear which step comes next. Flowcharts are a standard way to draw algorithms so that this order becomes visible.
A flowchart uses a small set of symbols. An oval marks the start and the end of the algorithm. A rectangle contains an action, for example giving a variable a new value. A diamond contains a question that can be answered with yes or no; depending on the answer, the algorithm continues along the yes arrow or the no arrow. Arrows connect the symbols and show the order of the steps. When an arrow leads from a later step back to an earlier one, the steps in between form a loop: they are repeated until the question in the diamond is answered the other way.
Answer: The diamond contains the yes or no question.
The passage assigns each symbol a role: ovals mark start and end, rectangles contain actions, arrows show the order, and the diamond holds the question that decides which arrow the algorithm follows.
