- Pay
- Paid by a fixed pay scale (TVöD Bund)
- Subject you study
- Vehicle Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Transport Engineering, Engineering, Natural Sciences
What you'll do
- Literature research on strategies for Demand-Side Management (DSM), grid-serving charging and feeding back, as well as evaluation metrics for load flexibilization and their application in the operation of battery traction units
- Modeling of energy demand of BEMUs using selected daily driving profiles with existing DLR model and evaluation of load flexibilization potential for specific recharging scenarios (e.g., recharging at terminal station, during overnight stabling)
- Development and implementation of recharging strategies considering route and timetable requirements, operational limits of traction batteries, available charging time windows, and performance of charging infrastructure or charging system (overhead line, plug-in recharging)
- Calculation of the potential for load flexibilization based on selected operating scenarios using the example of a route network; conduct parameter studies for relevant design parameters
What you need
- Ongoing scientific university studies in the field of vehicle or energy engineering, industrial engineering, transport engineering, or similar engineering and natural science degree programs
- Interest in the topic of future rail vehicles with battery-electric drives and the development of software-supported tools
- Basic knowledge of Python required
- Independent and motivated working style
What you get
- DLR stands for diversity, appreciation, and equality for all people. We promote independent work and the individual development of our employees in their personal and professional environment.
