Student Assistant (m/f/d): Software Development for Intelligent Energy Systems
Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft
What you will do
You develop software components for forecasting and optimization systems in the energy sector and transform scientific models and algorithms into robust, reusable solutions. In addition, you actively participate in the integration of load, generation, and electricity price forecasts into a common software platform. Moreover, you implement interfaces to real energy systems and energy management systems, such as OpenEMS, and support the construction of data pipelines and APIs. Furthermore, you work on demonstrators and pilot projects for industrial battery storage as well as on automated evaluations, monitoring, dashboard, and reporting solutions. Last but not least, you contribute your own ideas to the software architecture and product development and actively shape the solutions.
What you need
You are studying computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, data science, computational engineering, or a comparable course of study. You enjoy software development and are characterized by an independent and solution-oriented way of working. You have practical experience in Python, and knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink as well as libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or Scikit-Learn is an advantage. You are familiar with the fundamentals of modern software development and version control, for example with Git. Initial experience with APIs and data integration complements your profile; you also work in a structured manner, document comprehensibly, and acquire new technologies independently. Very good knowledge of both German and English, written and spoken, rounds off your profile.
