What you'll do
- In strategic purchasing for CCI (Control, Communication & Information), we are responsible for the procurement of central subsystems for our rail vehicles – including passenger information systems (PIS), Train IT, train radio, and vehicle control. Our international team at the Erlangen and Prague locations develops supplier strategies, conducts negotiations, and concludes framework and volume contracts with our suppliers.
- What will you contribute?
- As a working student (m/f/d), you will support our team in strategic purchasing CCI in daily business as well as in ongoing sourcing and contract projects – closely guided by our Category Managers.
- You assist with obtaining quotes: In coordination with the responsible Category Managers, you prepare requests, send them to suppliers, and follow up on responses.
- You participate in the evaluation of incoming quotes and prepare structured quote comparisons and decision-making bases.
- You assist with the preparation and coordination of documents for volume contracts (e.g., price and quantity overviews, appendices, technical and commercial documents) with our suppliers and internal departments.
- You maintain purchasing and contract data, e.g., in SAP and our purchasing tools, and keep track of deadlines and open items.
- You create analyses, reports, and presentations, e.g., on suppliers, prices, and project status, and prepare information tailored to the audience.
- You contribute your ideas for the use of AI tools and help make standard purchasing tasks more efficient and automated.
What you need
- You are studying business administration, industrial engineering, or a comparable degree program and are available for 15–20 hours per week.
- You have already gained practical experience through internships or working student activities – ideally in purchasing, supply chain management, or the contract environment of a larger company.
- You are AI-savvy, already use common AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) confidently in your daily work, and enjoy developing processes further with them.
- You are proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of SAP and Power BI is an advantage.
- You communicate openly and confidently – both internally and in exchanges with suppliers.
- Very good German and English skills round off your profile.
