The Vorpruefungsdokumentation (VPD) is a document uni-assist issues for some university application procedures. It lists the certificates it reviewed, how it evaluated them, and how it rates your grade in the German system. Check the target university to learn whether your application needs a VPD.

Both calculators apply the Modified Bavarian Formula. The German Grade Calculator uses the best and lowest passing values you enter. This VPD calculator starts with common grading values for the country and scale you select. Check those values against your transcript because the official review can use different rules.

No. This is a planning estimate. Submit your documents to uni-assist and use the grade shown on the issued VPD for the university application.

The presets use common public grading scales for the listed countries. Grading rules can differ by university, board, program, and year. Compare the preset with the grading legend on your transcript. If it differs, use Custom and enter the exact best and lowest passing values.

Indian boards and universities use different passing marks. The preset uses 40. If your transcript or official grading legend states 35 or another value, switch to Custom and enter that exact value.

Uni-assist lists a handling fee of 75 EUR for the first chosen course of study and 30 EUR for each additional chosen course in the same semester. The fee is the same for standard and VPD procedures. Some universities pay the fee for applicants.
