studierendenWERK BERLIN runs the student halls, with single and shared apartments. You can apply once you have accepted your study place.
Other student housing providers include Berlinovo, the Bürgermeister-Reuter-Stiftung, GESOBAU's GESOcampus and the Schlachtensee student village. Private "student" flats are not automatically cheap, so compare prices.
Shared flats (WG): an average room costs about 659 euros. Flats inside the S-Bahn ring are more expensive, and 45 to 60 minutes of travel from outer areas is normal.

HTW students can also use the internal accommodation forum "Home Sweet Home" to find and post offers.
