Tuition fees apply for non-EU students

Public universities in Baden-Württemberg charge non-EU and non-EEA students 1,500 EUR per semester for Bachelor's and consecutive Master's programmes, a state rule in place since 2017. EU and EEA students, and anyone with a German higher-education entrance qualification, are exempt. Private universities set their own, usually higher, fees. You also pay a semester contribution (Semesterbeitrag) of roughly 100 to 400 EUR, set by each university, which often includes a public transport pass.
