M.Sc. Applied Mathematics

Applied Mathematics is a German-taught Master of Science at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU), on the main campus in Cottbus. It takes 4 semesters full-time, you can start in winter or summer, and admission is not limited. You can study it in one of two fields: mathematics with a science or technical application, or business mathematics. A special feature is the large share of courses shared with students from other disciplines, which builds interdisciplinary teamwork before your career starts. You learn to design and analyse mathematical models and to solve scientific problems with mathematical theory and methods. Graduates take on responsible roles in industry, business, government and academia, work in insurance, banking and consulting, or go on to a PhD. Requirements include a mathematics-related Bachelor's, such as mathematics or business mathematics, with comparable training in analysis, linear algebra and applied mathematics.
