What you need to apply for Interdisciplinary Neuroscience at Goethe University Frankfurt
If not a native speaker the applicant must provide prove of sufficient knowledge of the English language on B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, e.g.:
a. TOEFL (ibT) minimum 87
b. IELTS minimum 5.5
c. A certificate confirming satisfactory knowledge of English based on a Bachelor thesis written in English issued from the faculties of “Biological Science”, “Psychology and Sports”, “Medicine” or “Biochemistry, Chemistry and Pharmacy” of the Goethe-University.
d. An at least one-year-long study or occupational stay in an English-speaking country within the last three years.

If the programme’s language of instruction is English you don’t need any German language skills when applying/enrolling. However, we do of course recommend having at least some basic German knowledge for your every day interactions.
Provisional admission is possible on the basis of a current transcript of records; at least 130 credit points in the B.A. must have been obtained; the Bachelor’s thesis must be finished or almost finished. Provisional admission is valid for 6 months.
In case the required degree has not been awarded by the time of application, you can still apply if you provide:

Provisional admission is valid until the end of the first semester of the master’s program. The bachelor’s degree must thus be handed in by March 31 (winter intake) or September 30 (summer intake) the latest.

Certificates German Language
In order to apply for one of our Master’s programmes with German as language of instruction you have to submit a DSH-2 certificate within the application deadline.
Enrolment without a passed DSH-2-test (or an equivalent certificate) is not possible, even if you might get an admission for the Master’s programme.
If the programme’s language of instruction is English you don’t need any German language skills when applying/enrolling. However, we do of course recommend having at least some basic German knowledge for your every day interactions.
