1\. A first academic degree (bachelor’s or equivalent):
Please note that acquiring an academic degree in one subject does not necessarily qualify you for any master's degree program. The subjects which are recognized for pre-qualification are listed in the Examination & Study Regulations associated with each master's degree program. In general, you should have acquired your first academic degree in a field which is similar to the aspired second degree program. For more information, please contact the International Admissions Office or talk to the study coordinator responsible for your specific degree program (assuming you already know which academic route you wish to take).
2\. Furnishing evidence of proficiency in German:
In order to study at LMU, you will need to provide evidence that you are proficient in German. An exception is made for master's degree programs and doctoral degree programs which are taught in English.
If you are not an EU citizen and you are applying to study a subject without admission restrictions but have not yet obtained a language certificate, you can provide evidence of your proficiency in German by signing up for an intensive German language course (or another B2 certificate not older than 12 months):
You can apply for the Master's program in Business Administration at the LMU Munich School of Management if you have a first professional university degree in a field of economics with at least 180 ECTS points or an equivalent degree from Germany or abroad.
To qualify for application to the consecutive LMU Master in Business Administration, your first degree must meet the following requirements:
major in economics (in total more than half of all ECTS points from courses in Business Administration and/or Economics).
including at least 15 ECTS points from courses in general business administration and at least 15 ECTS points from courses in economics.
In addition to good basic technical knowledge, fluent written and spoken German and English are important, as are cognitive skills such as the ability to think abstractly and solve problems.
English language requirements :-Proof of a successfully completed English language test, such as a TOEFL ibt with at least 100 points,

Proof of a successfully completed English language test, such as a TOEFL ibt with at least 100 points, if neither the degree is in a completely English-language course of study (independent course of study, no "double diploma" based on the recognition of German study sections), nor the university entrance qualification was obtained in English. Facultatively, we require the following documents for direct qualification for the selection interview:

If you do not have a sufficient GMAT score or certificate of recognition, you have the option of taking a written entrance examination at the LMU Faculty of Business Administration. The Master's entrance exam 2026 will take place on 05.06.2026 (tbc) and will be conducted in person at LMU Munich. A passed entrance exam qualifies for participation in the selection interview.
