Documents that need to be uploaded
Final certificate (for completed studies) or current transcript of records (for incomplete studies)
. Always required.
The documents must include an overall grade (provisional if applicable) as well as grades and credit points for the individual modules or subjects. If no overall grade is stated in the transcript of records or certificate, a separate certificate with the overall grade must be enclosed. If the final certificate does not contain information about the individual modules (subjects) of the degree program, a separate transcript of records with the individual modules (subjects) must be enclosed.
Proof of knowledge of the English language (see entry requirements for details ).
Letter of motivation:
Not required for applications for Entrepreneurship and SME Management .
The letter of motivation should not exceed two pages (3,000 characters). It should outline in a structured manner, in particular:
– expectations regarding the program,
– expectations regarding your own professional development,
– if applying for the Master's program in Plural Economics, the desired focus should be stated.
Proof of German language skills
is only required if the first higher education entrance qualification (equivalent to the Abitur or Fachhochschulreife) was not obtained at a German school.
The DSH Level 2 exam or an equivalent exam is required.
anabin printout of the university where the bachelor's degree (or equivalent) was obtained.
Only required if the degree was obtained from a university abroad.
(Please first select "Institutions" and "Search" in the anabin database , then select your university. Please print out the information and attach it to your application.
Confirmation from your home university that you will probably complete your studies in the current semester.
Only required if you have not yet completed your bachelor's degree or similar and you still need more than 40 credit points to complete your degree.
Application if you have not yet completed your bachelor's degree
If the application for a place at university is based on a bachelor's degree that has not yet been successfully completed, a current transcript of records must be uploaded instead of the final certificate; either this transcript of records must contain a provisional overall grade, or the transcript of records must be supplemented by a separate certificate of the provisional overall grade.
If, at the time of application, more than 40 credit points (according to ECTS) are missing to complete the program, the application must be accompanied by a forecast from the home institution that the degree can be obtained in the summer semester of 2025. Otherwise, it will be assumed that a degree in the summer semester of 2025 is no longer possible, and the application will not be considered.
If the degree program has not yet been completed, provisional and conditional admission to the Master's program at the University of Siegen may be granted. However, subsequent final admission for the 2025/2026 winter semester is only possible if the program is completed during the 2025 summer semester. (As a general rule, the day on which the final examination of the program is taken is the decisive date; if the Bachelor's thesis is the final achievement, then the day on which the Bachelor's thesis is submitted is generally the decisive date.)
