1. You need to apply online in our CMCB databank (from April 1st to May 31st).

In addition, you need to apply through "uni-assist", a service organization supporting TU Dresden with processing application documents from international applicants. They will check the completeness of your file and the validity of your certificates. Without it, applications cannot be considered.

Applicants graduating from non-German institutions must submit their applications through both the CMCB Master's Application Portal and the uni-assist portal!

Payment of a fee to uni-assist is required. Please note that your application will only be processed after uni-assist has received your payment.

The application for CMCB Master's programs is an online application. To apply, you need to register in the CMCB Master's Application Portal.

You need to need to send to uni-assist the following documents (certified copies) by post:

Certified copies of your university degree certificate(s) and certified English or German translations (if the documents have not been issued in one of these languages).

If you have not received your degree certificate yet, please enclose a certified copy of your latest transcripts as well as a certificate from your university about the achievement of at least 80% of the credits necessary for graduation, the expected overall average grade, and your expected graduation date, including certified English or German translations if the documents have not been issued in one of these languages.

Please note that a 4-years undergraduate degree is required from most Asian applicants including India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Latest transcripts of records.

Certified copy of your higher education entrance qualification/school leaving certificate (Abitur, Baccalaureate, School-Leaving Certificate, O- and A-Levels, etc.) including the list of grades and its attested English or German translation (if the certificate is not issued in one of these languages).

CV in English.

Motivation letter in English.

Two letters of recommendation from professors of your college or university qualified to evaluate your academic achievements and your potential for graduate study.

Proof of your English proficiency (see language requirements).

Special degree-specific documents

• Online registration on the website of the course of study
• Proof of English language skills
• CV in tabular form (in English)
• Two letters of recommendation either in English or German, preferably by university professors
• Appropriate documents and certificates to prove the particular expertise required

Please fill in the online application with your personal data, background, motivation, interests, etc.

Please make sure to prepare and upload the following documents:

Photocopy of the first university degree certificate(s) in German or English as well as a translation of the applicant’s university degree certificate(s) in German or English, and transcripts of records.

Photocopy of the certificate demonstrating the student's proficiency in English.

It can be:

Diploma of the secondary school with an advanced English course

Diploma of the secondary school fully completed in English

Diploma of a university degree fully completed in English

English certificate, e.g.,:

TOEFL IBT (min. 92),

IELTS (min. 6.5),

or comparable certificates.

Applicants whose mother tongue is English are exempt from the obligation to provide proof of English proficiency.

Two letters of recommendation.

The letter can be written in English or German.

At least one letter should be written by a university teacher.

Photocopies of other certificates proving e.g., supplementary qualifications, extra-curricular achievements and activities, and professional experience that will give information on the student's special aptitude.

An up to date curriculum vitae (CV)

A copy of your higher education entrance qualification/school leaving certificate (equivalent of the German Abitur), including the list of grades.

If you have a degree or are about to get a degree from China, Vietnam or India, you need to provide the APS certificate (Akademische Prüfstelle) from the Academic Evaluation Centre at the German Embassy.
