Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS) Würzburg
International Social Work with Refugees and Migrants (MRM) is an application-oriented, English-language Master's at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (THWS), with an international focus. It is for people who want to contribute to social work with refugees and migrants. In Germany, that means supporting and empowering refugees and immigrants, helping them integrate and reducing barriers in public services. In Europe and beyond, it means organising human-rights-oriented help for refugees, for example in EU hotspot asylum centres or UNHCR camps in regions of origin and transit. Based on research and theory, you gain intercultural, legal, educational and psychological skills to develop practical responses to the situation of refugees and migrants, and to work with local and international policy actors. Cooperation with universities abroad links the programme to countries of origin and transit regions, including partner universities for study abroad in the second semester.
