Ecological Engineering at TUM is a four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS on the Weihenstephan (Freising) campus, available full-time or part-time and starting in the winter semester (October). German is the required language. Competition over land and resources, for example between agriculture and nature conservation, keeps growing, and you learn to counter these conflicts with ecosystem management tools and to develop concepts for ecologically and socially sustainable land use. The programme is strongly interdisciplinary, combining biology, ecology, ecosystem sciences, physical geography and land use sciences with environmental planning, management and engineering. You work on ecology, biodiversity, climate change, geographic information systems, land management, modelling and experimental design, and you learn to support administrative and political decisions with practical models. Admission is through an aptitude assessment.
