What you need to apply for Physics at Ulm University
TOEFL (ibT) test with minimum score: 88

IELTS test with minimum score: 6,5

any English Language Certificate corresponding to the same according to the CEFR (Common European Framework Reference for Languages)

evidence that the Bachelor was completed exclusively in English.
Applicants who are English native speakers don't have to submit any English test result.
Students are welcome to apply without an English certificate, however they should plan a test as soon as possible. A valid English certificate has to be presented at the moment of enrollment the latest.

Requirements for the Master’s program in Physics are:
Basic knowledge and skills, demonstrated by at least 20 ECTS
credits in mathematics (analysis, linear algebra, differential equations), at least 30
ECTS credits in experimental physics, at least 24 ECTS credits in theoretical
physics and 17 ECTS credits in physics practicals
the ability to work independently in scientific research, demonstrated in particular
by a thesis or a comparable achievement worth 10 ECTS

For applicants who hold a university degree from a country
that is not part of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), a selection interview
within the meaning of Section 5 with the determination of “suitable”.
The language proficiency certificate required for the respective degree program must be submitted at the latest upon enrollment. Exception: For the Master's in Cognitive Systems, the required language proficiency certificate must already be submitted at the time of application.
Enrollment without the required language proficiency certificate is not possible.
What to prepare for your application to Physics
When submitting your application on the campus portal, you must upload the following documents:
Bachelor's certificate and bachelor's degree certificate with final grade as well as subject and grade overview / transcript of records with credit points / diploma supplement (if available)
The module description of the Bachelor's program.
If no university degree is yet available: a transcript of records issued by the university with the total credit points achieved up to the application deadline and the provisional average grade
Form for subject-specific additional information
Proof of previous knowledge in the fields of experimental and theoretical physics and mathematics
Proof of English language skills at level B2 CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
For a university degree from China, India or Vietnam: APS certificate or APS confirmation.
For a foreign university degree: Grading scale of the degree program with details of the lowest passing grade and the maximum grade for the university degree, to be proven on the bachelor's certificate/bachelor's diploma or on an official document from the university.
If the evidence and documents to be submitted are not in German or English, an official translation into German or English is also required
For applicants who do not come from an EU country or the European Economic Area and have a German higher education entrance qualification (Abitur): Proof of higher education entrance qualification
