Country-specific Master’s admission tests are also positively evaluated for admission (e.g. GATE with score > 300 for India; Nationwide Master’s Program Unified Admissions Examination Certificate with score >300 or admission without examination with CGPA >3,5/4 for China).

Qualification
A bachelor’s degree from the University of Bayreuth or any other German university in any of the following subject areas: Chemistry, Polymer and Colloid Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, Material Science and Materials Engineering, Engineering Science or an equivalent degree from another university.
This must include the following academic credits (total 22 credits):

A larger number of credits in these areas (and especially Chemistry) is evaluated positively for admission.
Equivalency
If the bachelor’s degree is not from the University of Bayreuth, it will first be examined for equivalency to the abovementioned subject areas by the board of examiners prior to admission.
Language Proficiency
[ENGLISH](https://www.international-office.uni-bayreuth.de/en/come-...): IELTS Band 6.5 or an [equivalent certificate](https://www.international-office.uni-bayreuth.de/en/come-...); B2 is the minimum level required, a higher level is positively evaluated for admission.
[GERMAN](https://www.international-office.uni-bayreuth.de/en/come-...): level A1; Candidates are recommended to submit their German A1 language certificate at the time of admission. In case this isn’t possible, they are allowed to submit it until the end of the second semester.
Higher education entrance qualification

Applying without a degree certificate
For candidates awaiting results or completion of their bachelor’s degree, the application can already be submitted if 150 out of a total of 180 credit points (or 83.33% of total credit points depending on the system) are already achieved.
