What you need to apply for Medical Engineering at University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg)

What to prepare for your application to Medical Engineering
Documents to be submitted online via Campo:
a) Online application form (generated in Campo)
b) School leaving certificate (high school diploma or equivalent)
c) Certificate(s) of the previous academic degree(s): if available at the time of application; must be submitted 1 year after enrollment at the very latest! If you already have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, make sure to apply with the documentation for both of them.
d) Transcript of records of the previous academic degree(s):
If you haven’t finished your academic degree yet and don’t study in accordance with the European credit system (ECTS), the transcript must include at least semester 5 for 3-year study programs, semester 7 for 4-year study programs etc. (n-1 semesters).
If you haven’t finished your academic degree yet and study in accordance with the ECTS system, the transcript must include at least 140 ECTS.
If you already have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, make sure to apply with the documentation for both of them.
e) Curriculum Vitae (CV) in tabular form (we do not provide you with a template, you can choose any style that you like)
f) Letter of application (1 page), explaining what is your motivation to join our program and why you are a suitable candidate for it (we do not provide you with a template, you can choose any style that you like)
g) Proof of language proficiency level (as defined here); language certificates are to be uploaded in PDF format – no digital transmission of test results via the test agency needed
h) Applicants from China, Vietnam and India additionally need to submit an APS certificate at the time of the submission of their application via Campo. Applicants from Pakistan need a degree attestation by HEC on their degree certificate and transcript of records. Applicants from Bangladesh are advised not to apply before they have received their official degree certficate (convocation), as it will result in the deregistration of the student if the official certificate cannot be submited within one year after enrollment.
i) It is not necessary to take a standardized subject-related test such as GRE, GATE etc. in oder to apply to our program. But if you have already taken such a test, please submit the test result together with your application.
PLEASE NOTE:
All of your certificates except for your language certificates have to be officially certified (i.e. notarized) copies. Additionally, if your certificates are not issued in German, English or French, you have to submit copies with an officially certified translation.
You do not need to submit recommendation letters, as we will not consider them in our admission process.

3. Procedure for qualification assessment and admission
The qualification assessment procedure has two phases: in the first phase your submitted documents are examined, in the second phase your qualifications might be assessed through an interview. Every applicant that is qualified for the Master degree programme Medical Engineering will be admitted, in some cases under certain conditions that must be met within a year.
4. Enrollment/Registration
After your successful qualification assessment you will receive an admission letter you will need for your enrollment in person.

In order to apply successfully for the Master´s degree programme Medical Engineering you must
have a subject-specific or subject-related Bachelor´s degree.
The subject-related Bachelor´s degrees are exclusively from the field of engineering, e.g.:
A degree in a non-engineering field (e.g. Medicine or Biochemistry) does not meet the admission requirements for the Master´s degree programme Medical Engineering.
2\. Excellent computer science skills (algorithms, programming in Java,
C/C++, Matlab, Python, working with Linux operating system), profound knowledge in electrical engineering and a strong theoretical mathematics background.
Please select “M.Sc. Medizintechnik” as your study program. To choose one of the English-taught branches of study, you have to select “Medical Image and Data Processing (in English)
