has obtained a first degree with an average grade of at least 2.9 from a German university in the Bachelor's program in Embedded Systems Engineering or in an equivalent program of at least three years at a German or foreign university
2\. has either knowledge of the German language corresponding to at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, and knowledge of the English language corresponding to at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, or knowledge of the English language corresponding to at least level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
(2) The applicant must provide evidence that they have earned at least 110 ECTS credits in the areas of fundamental mathematics, fundamental computer science, fundamental electrical engineering, fundamental microsystems engineering, and fundamental embedded systems within the framework of their first degree program (paragraph 1, sentence 1, no. 1). At least 26 ECTS credits must be earned in the area of fundamental computer science, at least 20 ECTS credits each in the area of mathematics, as well as in the areas of physics and electrical engineering, and at least 10 ECTS credits in the area of microsystems engineering. The Admissions Committee shall decide on the granting of exceptions regarding the fulfillment of individual criteria specified in sentences 1 and 2. (3) If an applicant does not meet the requirements specified in paragraph 2, sentences 1 and 2,
the Admissions Committee may stipulate, as a condition, which modules or courses from the curriculum offered by the Faculty of Engineering or the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, totaling a maximum of 30 ECTS credits, must be additionally completed in the first and second semesters. The corresponding examinations must be completed by the end of the second semester; failed examinations may only be retaken once at the next possible examination date.
What to prepare for your application to Embedded Systems Engineering
Applications will be done electronically. These are the documents needed:
original undergraduate diploma or certified copy (bachelors or equivalent) - if already available,
original undergraduate transcript of records or certified copy, showing all courses and credits taken and all grades/marks obtained as well as the final/current overall average grade,
if applicable: letter or certificate issued by your university, stating one of the following: registration, submission or completion of your final thesis, or expected graduation date (see below),
your English proficiency test result (for details, see below),
your Curriculum Vitae or résumé,
APS certificate (only for applicants who have studied in China, India or Vietnam).
Please note: It is not possible to submit the APS certificate after the application deadline.

GRE score (all three sections are important)
certificate about your class rank
certificate about the average grade of your class

Undergraduate diploma and transcript of records: If you have completed your studies, but not yet received the bachelors diploma, the transcript of records has to show the total number of credit points, final grade and the remark "degree conferred" or "degree awarded". If not, please submit an additional confirmation letter from the university stating the total number of credit points, the final grade and that the degree has been conferred.
If you have not yet completed your undergraduate studies, please submit a letter or certificate issued by your university, stating one of the following: registration, submission or completion of your final thesis, or expected graduation date.
English language proficiency:
The following English language certificates are accepted: Academic IELTS, including IELTS Online Academic (minimum 7.0), TOEFL, including TOEFL ibT home edition and TOEFL Essentials (minimum ibT score 95), Cambridge CAE or CPE, Pearson PTE Academic (minimum score 76), telc University, TOEIC, OOPT. Only native speakers from the USA, the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada or students having completed their bachelor's degree in one of these countries are exempted from submitting a test score. A confirmation that the medium of instruction at your university was English is not sufficient.
Please note: Incomplete applications will not be considered. Certificates issued in a language other than German or English must be accompanied with a translation by an authorized translator.
