What you need to apply for Mechanical Engineering at University of Lubeck
Applicants from non-English speaking countries must prove their English language
proficiency such as TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge with minimum score:

Those who did not obtain their educational qualifications in a German-speaking country must also provide evidence of sufficient knowledge of the German language. Recognized proofs are:
DSH: Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH) with at least level 2 in the overall result from a state-recognized school. Private language schools are not sufficient!
TestDaF: Test of German as a Foreign Language (TestDaF) with at least level TDN 4 in all partial tests
German Language Diploma of the Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs - Second Level (DSD II)

Feststellungsprüfung des Studienkollegs: The German part of the exam must be passed with at least the grade "ausreichend".
European Baccalaureate certificate with successfully completed examination in German as first language (L1) or second language (L2)
Further recognized certificates can be found in the guidelines of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany.
Can you only provide proof of German language proficiency level C1, e.g. TestDaF (3,4,4,3 or 3,3,4,5), Goethe-Zertifikat C1 or telc C1 (DSH 1 is not sufficient) at the time of your application?
You can only be admitted to the selection procedure if you submit an application for a renewed German language examination. The exam must be taken before the application deadline! Please attach your language certificate and the registration form to your application documents. A recognized language certificate with the required result must be available by the time of enrollment (end of August) at the latest!

You get the opportunity to gain an internationally acknowledged Master of Science degree in 3 semesters (1.5 years = 90 ECTS) based on a German/European 7 semester Bachelor of Science program (210 ECTS).

International applicants from non-EU-countries have to submit two (2) letters of recommendation
by professors from their university of graduation.
These letters of recommendation must be submitted to uni-assist.de. They should be sent in a
sealed envelope if this is common practice in the applicant’s country.

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Bachelor degree in engineering with 210 ECTS or with180 ECTS and a minimum CGPA of 2.5 (German grading system). With 180 ECTS conditional admission can be offered.

Admission restrictions:Our Master Program has restricted admission. A limited number of places is offered every semester, summer and winter term. The competitive selection process is carried out every semester anew.
The regular start of the study program is in the summer semester. A start in the winter semester is possible and offered every winter term. (In this case, you study the classes of the first and second semester in reverse order – thus, no problem!)
Proof of a good knowledge of German at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference can be made by: - Internationally acknowledged language test, minimum level B1 based on the CEFR (= Common European Framework for References), e.g. Goethe
Please note: Applicants with a German level A2 based on the CEFR may receive conditional admission and are expected to continue their German language education during their studies until B1 level.
