What you need to apply for Language and Communication at University of Mannheim
First degree in English and/or American Studies in the scope of a minor or comparable coursework
Attendance of English classes during the final years of German secondary school education with a minimum of 10 points achieved on average
Secondary school education with English as main language of instruction and examination
TOEFL (iBT) with a score of at least 79 points (Test Date Score)
First Certificate in English (FCE)
IELTS with a band score of 5.5 or better

TOEIC with a score of at least 715 from 990 points
Language Certificate of the Studium Generale of the University of Mannheim with the level B2 or better
All proofs of language proficiency recognized for level C1 are automatically accepted for level B2.
Any certificates acquired by a test must not be older than 2 years. The deadline is 31 May. Degree certificates and university entrance qualifications (Abitur diploma), however, remain valid throughout your life.
