The general prerequisite for enrolling in a Master’s program is a first academic degree that qualifies you for a profession, e.g., a Bachelor’s degree. Your first degree should be in Sports Therapy and Prevention. In principle, applications with degrees in disciplines related to prevention and rehabilitation in sports and medicine or similar fields are also acceptable. The final decision is made by the department’s examination committee.A university degree in a subject essential for the master’s degree program, such as prevention and rehabilitation in sports and medicine, sports sciences, health sciences (e.g., BA in sports therapy and prevention, BA/BSc in sports and health in prevention and therapy; BA/BSc in clinical health science; BA/BSc in physiotherapy) with at least 180 credit points of coursework, at least half of which demonstrably dealt with scientific methodology and clinical exercise science. Methodological competencies in the field of clinical sports and training sciences and / or clinical exercise science as evidenced by the completion of relevant modules amounting to at least 90 credit points.
Applicants who are not native speakers of English must provide evidence of English language skills that correspond at least to the C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

After successful completion of the first segment of the Master’s / Doctoral program with a good or excellent grade (at least B or 2.3), you may apply for admission to the Doctoral program. The examination committee reserves the right to hold interviews during this first section of your Master’s program in order to determine your academic aptitude.
If you have completed your first joint program segment with a module grade average below B (or better than 2.3), a recommendation for continuing with the Master’s program (second segment) is generally made. Exceptions are decided by the examination committee on a case-by-case basis.
If you have completed a program of study of at least 4 years in a field related to prevention and rehabilitation in sports and medicine or in a similar field, and if you have completed such a program with a degree higher than a Bachelor degree (with a grade of at least 2.3 or B), the examination committee may recommend you for immediate admission into the doctoral segment of the program.
If your Master’s thesis was assessed as excellent (A or at least 1.3), you may also apply for the doctoral segment of the program.
Generally, this English-language Master’s program requires very good knowledge of English, which could for example be demonstrated with a TOEFL score of at least 213 points (computerized test) or comparable results from other language tests. Exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis

1. Proof of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent first degree from a higher education institution by submitting your certificate of completion and your diploma. If applicable, also submit your diploma supplement.
If your diploma does not show proof of our subject-specific academic admission requirements, please submit a confirmation of your modules completed and credit points acquired (e.g. module performance overview, transcript of records) in addition to your certificate of completion and your diploma.
For an application without a formally completed degree, the following minimum number of credit points must be documented at the time of application with a current transcript of records or confirmation issued by the institution of higher education regarding the current total number of credit points up to that point:
at least 140 credit points for bachelor’s degree programs with a total of 180 credit points
at least 170 credit points for bachelor’s degree programs with a total of 210 credit points
at least 200 credit points for bachelor’s degree programs with a total of 240 credit points
2. Evidence of the content and structure of your academic training. This can be, for example, module catalogs, study and examination regulations or a syllabus.
3. If applicable, preliminary review documentation (Vorprüfungsdokumentation) by uni-assist e.V.
If you are submitting an academic degree or academic records from a higher education institution abroad, you must also upload a document on the evaluation of the degree as an entrance qualification for master’s studies (preliminary review documentation – Vorprüfungsdokumentation or VPD) via the admission and enrollment portal. Please refer to the following website for information on how to apply for a VPD.
Applying for a VPD does not count as an application for the degree program. Be sure to allow enough time to apply for a VPD; the average processing time at uni-assist is 4 to 6 weeks.
The VPD must be submitted via the admission and enrollment portal by the application deadline.
If you would like to apply with a degree from a recognized institution of higher education in the People's Republic of China, Vietnam and India, you must also submit the relevant APS certificate with your application documents in addition to the VPD.
4. If applicable, translations by a sworn translator. If your academic transcripts were issued in a language other than German or English, a translation of these documents by a sworn translator must also be uploaded via the admission and enrollment portal.
5. If applicable, a placement notice for first or advanced semester entry issued by the Chair of the Examining Board of the degree program. In addition you are required to submit documents which confirm periods of enrollment and semesters of enrollment in a master's degree program or in an equivalent academic program.

6. A complete and up-to-date CV in tabular format from the 16th year of your life which includes all periods you were enrolled at an institution of higher education. That includes ongoing, interrupted and formally completed study periods.
7. If applicable, evidence of the change of names by presenting a copy of the offical certificate about the name change (for example marriage certificate).

(1) If the master’s segment of the International
Master’s/PhD Program in Clinical Exercise Science
has restricted admissions, an admissions selection
process is carried out under Section 9 of the ZulO
with the objective of ranking theapplicants as part of
the admission allocation procedure under Section 8
of the ZulO.
(2) To establish the ranking, a total point value is
calculated under Section 9 of the ZulO. In calculating the total point value under Section 9 of the ZulO,
the following criteria are weighted as follows:
a) Average grade or current average grade:

c) Qualifications gained outside of higher education (e.g., trainer licenses): 12%

(3) The criterion named under Section 6 subsection
2 b) is graded (on a scale from 1.0 to 5.0, with 1.0
being the best) and contributes to the total point
