M.Sc. Mental health

Mental Health is an MSc at Deggendorf Institute of Technology's Faculty of Applied Healthcare Sciences. It is taught in German, takes 4 semesters and 120 ECTS, and starts in the winter semester. With a mix of research methods, theory and practical skills, it deepens your understanding of the human psyche: you learn to support people in exceptional psychological situations, counsel people with mental health conditions, and help prevent them. The programme is interdisciplinary and practice-oriented, was launched in response to the shortage of psychosocial care specialists in the region, and focuses on the needs of Lower Bavaria with research and practice linked from the start. It is for people working in healthcare who are interested in mental health, and it does not lead to training as a psychotherapist. It suits graduates in health sciences, such as psychology, social work, nursing or physician assistant.
