Academic Entrance Requirements

Bachelor, Dipl.-Ing. or equivalent degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or in a related field from a recognized university. The Bachelor degree has to certify the completion of an at least 3 years study program. Applicants must demonstrate a solid basis in mathematics and physics.

You can apply with provisional papers if you have not yet completed your Bachelor's degree. All academic transcripts showing all years of university study must be uploaded to the online application portal. However, be aware that you must have completed the Bachelor's degree at the time of enrollment.

Results of the GRE (Graduate Record Examination GENERAL TEST) need to be uploaded to the online application portal, if you received your Bachelor degree from a University outside of the European Union. (ETS institution code 9024)

Language Requirements

Proof of knowledge of German language ("Zertifikat Deutsch" (Level B1) or equivalent German language certificate must be uploaded to the online application portal).

Proof of knowledge of English language (Score sheets of the TOEFL test or an equivalent English language certificate must be uploaded to the online application portal; minimum TOEFL score: 210 on the computer-based test, 79 on the internet-based test, 550 on the paper-based test; minimum IELTS score: Band 6.0; native speaker from one the following countries: Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, USA).

If you are an applicant from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Pakistan you must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores, even if your complete education was in English. If you are admitted, the German embassy will not give you a visa if you do not have a current TOEFL or IELTS score sheet. Applicants from India using the German Consulate in Chennai or Hyderabad generally must submit a TOEFL or IELTS score sheet less than six months old at the time of VISA APPLICATION! This is a requirement of the Consulate, not the university! Other embassies and consulates may have similar requirements.

• are an active learner who enjoys immersing themselves in the fundamentals of control engineering and modern microtechnology and keeping abreast of the latest trends and technologies in this field.
• would like to acquire in-depth knowledge of sensors and actuators, mechatronic system modulation, advanced motion control and robotics.
• are creative and inventive as an engineer and are interested in intelligent integrated systems and better human-machine communication.
• would like to study at one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Germany, close to the border with the Netherlands and Belgium.
• would like to study in Aachen - a lively and beautiful German city with many students and historical roots.
