How to apply
What you need to apply for Anglophone Literatures, Cultures and Media (Master of Arts) at Goethe University Frankfurt
Not Required
Bachelor’s degree or comparable degree in a similar or related subject
Bachelor's degree in English studies or a related subject (general and comparative literature, Romance studies, German studies or another new philology, media studies, cultural anthropology, ethnology ) in combination with an Anglistic minor, or a related subject.
The examination board decides on the recognition and comparability of the degrees.
Provisional admission is possible subject to the reservation if at least 80% of the CP required for the bachelor's degree has been achieved and the bachelor's thesis has already been completed or is about to be completed. The bachelor's degree must be proven within the next 6 months at the latest.
Letter of Motivation in English language (at most 800 words)
Proof of English language skills by certificates or another equivalent form of proof recognised by the examination office (Niveau C1), e.g.
a) TOEFL (Internet based at least 110 points, computer based at least 270 points, paper based at least 637 points) or
b) IELTS (at least 7.0 in all 4 categories) or
c) a BA degree at the Goethe University in American Studies or English Studies (major or minor) or a comparable degree in a related field at a different university or a degree from an English-speaking country
