Brewing and Beverage Technology at TUM is a full-time, four-semester Master of Science with 120 ECTS on the Weihenstephan (Freising) campus, starting in the winter semester (October). German is the required language. Building on the Bachelor's of the same name, it combines engineering and natural sciences for engineers in industrial beer and beverage production, development and research. You deepen engineering, process engineering, product-specific and technological processes, including designing and simulating processes, optimising production methods and planning supply facilities such as cooling units or compressed air. On the product side you study enzymatic conversions in fermentation, modern analytical methods for beverages and rheological methods for product consistency. Graduates can analyse and optimise beverage production, design brewery plants, adapt the brewing process, develop fermentation techniques, select and test raw materials and help shape research projects.
