Musikwissenschaft (Musicology) is a research-oriented, German-taught Master of Arts at the University of Freiburg over 4 semesters with 120 credits, with entry in the winter or summer semester. It trains you in historical, empirical and ethnographic methods to analyse musical practices across periods and cultures and their social, political and cultural contexts. Graduates can work in academic research, cultural institutions, publishing and media. You need German at C1, English at B1, and Latin or another modern language at A2.
