University degree

Proof of a first professional university degree or an equivalent degree from a university with at least 180 credits is required.

Those who complete their first professional university degree in the calendar year of their application and do not yet have a final certificate with the required grade may still be considered in the application process if they submit a current transcript of records showing their current grade point average.

In these cases, the final certificate must be submitted no later than the end of the first master's semester. Enrollment is upon admission to a four-semester program. After admission, students may apply for a two-semester program. To do so, they must demonstrate at least 240 university credits from previous university degrees.

German language skills

Applicants for a degree program with German as the language of instruction who have not obtained their higher education entrance qualification at a German-speaking institution must provide evidence of sufficient knowledge of the German language in accordance with Section 3 of the University of Hamburg's statutes on admission to studies (University Admissions Statute - UniZS) in the currently valid version

English skills

Adequate knowledge of the English language is demonstrated by one of the following tests at the specified level: • Revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test: at least 22 points per skill (Reading, Listening, Writing) • TOEFL internet-based test (test date scores): 92 points with at least 22 points per skill (Listening, Writing, Speaking, Reading) 2 FACTORIAL FOR ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL SCIENCES • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – Academic: Overall Band Score at least 6.5 (Good Competent User) with at least 6.0 per skill, • Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE), • Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE), • Cambridge Higher Business English Certificate (BEC).
