Economic Systems is an English-taught MSc at Freie Universität Berlin that teaches theoretical and empirical economics, from microeconomics and macroeconomics to econometrics, with a regional focus on emerging countries, particularly Eastern Europe, including Russia, the post-Soviet states and East-Central and Southeastern Europe. One programme year is spent at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Belgrade, with modules such as applied microeconomics, public finance, microeconometrics, policy analysis and impact evaluation, machine learning and data mining, and an internship. The year at FU Berlin covers the economies of Russia, Eastern Europe and Eurasia, comparative economics, research and writing, and selected topics, followed by a Master's thesis. You analyse current and historical economic and political problems of the post-socialist region in groups. It builds on a previous degree in economics or a mathematics-oriented field.
